Duh = bad, Sthan = house.*
That is, *houses that give bad results*.
These three houses, *6, 8, and 12,* from the ascendant are Dusthana. These are also called *Trika Sthanas*.
Why are these called Dusthana?
Every house has a good karaktava. But these three houses show the things that cause trouble to a person.
*1. 6th house – Enemy, disease, debt (loan)*
– This is the house of quarrels. Disease, debt, enemies, court, rivalry, trouble from work.
– This is also called *Upachaya Sthan*. That is, if malefic planets (Saturn, Mars) are here, it is a little good; you will win over enemies. Auspicious planets are ruined here.
*2. 8th house – Longevity, accident, shame*
– This is the most terrible house. This is called *Ayur Bhava*.
– Chronic illness, operation, accident, shame, bribery, secrecy, research, insurance money, and property from the mother-in-law’s house – all these are the 8th house.
– If this house is damaged, there will be a sudden decline in life.
*3. 12th house – loss, expense, salvation*
– This is *Vaya Bhava*. The house where money goes out of hand.
– Hospital stay, jail, staying abroad, lack of sleep, leg pain, salvation, solitude.
– If the 12th house is strong, it is good for foreign yoga and spirituality. Otherwise, it is just spending money.
What is the problem with the lords of 6-8-12?
– *Dasha of the 6th lord:* You will take loans, get sick, enemies will increase, and court cases.
– *Dasha of the 8th lord:* Mental fear, money getting stuck, danger, sudden change.
– *12th lord’s dasha:* Spending all the money saved, going away from home, spending on health, disturbed sleep.
A big nuance is excess. Raja Yoga!
Here is a wonderful rule.
If the 6th lord is in 8 or 12, if the 8th lord is in 6 or 12, if the 12th lord is in 6 or 8 – that is excessive Raja Yoga! *
If a bad person goes to a bad house, the evil will decrease. Then, suddenly, big profit, a lottery, the destruction of enemies, and a great name will come.
For example, if the 6th lord is in the 8th house, even if you have debt, you will become great because of it.
What is the difference between Maraka and Dusthana?
– *Maraka (2, 7):* Death-like difficulty, the last blow.
– *Dusthana (6, 8, 12):* Small and big difficulties that haunt you throughout life, disease, debt, and expenses.
If the ascendant lord is strong in the horoscope, and if Jupiter is strong, then the defects of these evil places will not do anything.
